Yuki Homes was founded by Nick and Derek, two lifelong friends who first met in college and bonded over a shared passion for adventure. From surf breaks in Central America to powder days in the Japanese Alps, they’ve spent the better part of the last decade chasing the seasons around the globe.

But it was Japan, specifically Hokkaido’s deep, dry snow and unique cultural charm, that kept calling them back, year after year. Eventually, that pull became something more permanent. After purchasing their own home in Otaru, a historic coastal city with quick access to Niseko and other major ski areas, they experienced firsthand how complicated and opaque the Japanese real estate market could be for foreigners.
