We are now just over a week post settlement on our place in Otaru and have no hesitation in giving a 5 star review to Yuki Homes. This is the longest review I've ever done but buying a house in another country is an experience! Our first contact was with Derek who was really patient with our questions, listened and helped us think about a location that could work for our differing needs (ie: skiers/non skiers and all year round destinations). After signing up, the search process was thorough and proactive, with a lot of the market nuances explained clearly to us. The video tours were excellent (thank you Ryu). Once we had an offer accepted, the partners that Yuki Homes used were very professional, and relying on translated documents does involve trust. Settlement was smooth, but post-settlement has been a real highlight. We signed up to have Yuki Homes manage this, and getting all the utilities online for a house that has been empty for a while would be challenging anywhere, but on day one we had water and electricity, followed closely by gas and kerosene. In amongst that, fixing a leaking toilet and kitchen tap. The big shout out here is to the Yuki Homes team on the ground, with Cam coordinating so much and locally Matt being at the property when all the contractors were on site, and bridging the language barrier for us. In the end it's about trust in a complex process in an unfamiliar environment. We were a bit nervous at the beginning, but our experience has been great. No hesitation in recommending them!
